LANSING, N.Y. -- A Horseheads man is dead after falling from a scaffolding on a Tompkins County construction site.

Sheriff's deputies say John Roy was working on a home in Lansing when he fell about 30 feet to the ground. Roy was taken to Cayuga Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators are still looking into the incident, but they believe Roy lost his footing while attempting to go through a small window onto the scaffolding.
